I was going to post some observations about flashing and people with glasses but I saw a look-alike lomo picture on one of my Facebook friend's wall and I decided to do some lomo talk & trial.
I don't pretend to be a Wiki: there are plenty of full accurate articles about lomography, but I want to defend the idea of lomo because it can be fun! Imagine yourself carrying one small camera around and with this small (film) camera you just shoot! Shoot for your life. Walk around with your camera, on the most funny and creative angles and shoot! Send to development and you will have a lot of [good] surprises.
Now comes the first and ultimate question: "Uhrgh? Film? Why not digital?"
Well, as you can read at A guide to Lomography and How to make digital photos look like lomo photography you will see that lomo pictures have their very singular look derived from the "cross process" development of the film. In other words: you get a diapositive (transparent) film and developed "as if" it is a negative film (using the same chemicals).
Last time I did that on Hema they almost called the sanatorium to drag me out of the store...
Anyway, I took one digital picture and followed this guide to make a lomo-alike look of the above dead nature.
And now that I have a spare lightweight canon 400d around... so why not carry it all way around and post some lomos?
Hummm...
Why not buy a lomo and shoot with 35mm film? Its cheap and its fun! And what could be more fun than to bring a roll of film and *wait* until it gets developed? Are you also one of the geeks that opens the envelop in the middle of the store and start to look at the pictures and smile?
