Goudenberg: you don't need a top notch camera!

Today we have been on a place that I did not know: Woudenberg.

We went to visit some friends and I took my medium camera with the normal "kit" lens (a 400d).

It was not too cold and also not too windy and we set for a walk. And while I was looking around I was almost regretting that I did not bring my big camera with me with one of the L lenses. Why oh why?
But I had the 400d in my bag and I had made an agreement with myself I would carry that 400d anywhere!

And I told myself I would do my best with what I had at that moment because otherwise, I wouldn't do anything at all!

While walking I was astonished by the golden light around. I could sense it, feel it. Everything was gold. It was so gold I felt I could just grab the air with my hands! How could I express this with just one limited technology of a camera? How could I grab that moment?

Back home I downloaded the images and as usual I was not happy. The images that come out a SLR camera are always very poor: poor on contrast, highly saturated and not at all what I wanted to see.

I started to work as I normally do: throw away the poor images and work the good ones. Work on contrast and mainly, bring more light to the yellows and oranges!

To my standpoint, I will always remember this walk through Goudenberg. Or what would that be Woundenberg?
