The various faces of God

God @Noronha
I am not what you can call a religious person and I don't want to discuss about this either, but since Rafael was a child, whenever the sun broke through the clouds we would say that it was "God", making a link with the epic films we used to watch on TV during the Holy-days in Brazil.

Now what does my oldest son do with his small brother? He repeats the same story "look Thomas! That is God!".

I find it cute because, in some way, that is for me the real God: the beauty of nature.

Now, whenever Thomas sees the sun through the clouds, he says: "Look! Look there! God!" and my heart fills with happiness.

This picture is a moment where my two boys where looking at God in Fernando de Noronha last (Brazilian) summer. They were swimming and it was already late on the afternoon. The sun was setting, we had rain on the ocean and I could take this picture with a zoom lens (70mm -200m L).

For the pimp on the Lightroom, I corrected the exposure because it was very dark and added a Graduated Filter on the sky to make "God" more visible. Saturation on blue has been decreased and saturation on yellow increased. Blue and yellow are complementary colors, which makes it a good contrasting combination in this case.

The fishing boat on the horizon together with the birds, was pure luck and I simply LOVE this picture of my two little boys!
