And I desperately need a break. I feel like an old and full closet that needs to be cleaned-up, that needs fresh air and to have the inside exposed to some good quality moments.
If I look around in the living room, I see small corners, doors and walls that need cleaning. I see paper that must be sorted out and small old things that must be trashed. So, lets do some work on the first holiday day and clean up the living room! Get the energy to circulate... I am sure I will find my "mojo" back and my mind will be less clogged.
It's a bit late for spring cleaning but anyhow.... if you start by your own house, everything else will follow. I have seen it before. Believe me!

Something else, I've got a wonderful book of Nigella Lawson as a gift. A really nice one where she proposes to eat well without spending your entire evening in the kitchen. Awesome. And I am looking forward to have the recipes tested. I will bring this with me for holidays. I know most people do not enjoy cooking during the holidays but I do, if I have the right ingredients. And for sure I will have them.

And another thing else ;)
I made this picture of Mr. M. and his new glasses. I like the interpretation and I am telling why. We have two huge windows on the living room and Mr. M. was standing in front of me and against the windows. The light outside was so even and soft (the wonderful rainy Dutch weather, lovely to photograph) casting this crispy lighting around the face.
For the post processing, I had two options: do the "normal things" in portraiture and diminish the contrast of the picture or run away a bit. And so I did... I just made the red and orange channels more luminous and pushed a bit on the contrast. The rest is given by the absolute sharpness on the eyes and the catch light into the eyes.
In the end, it reminded me of Stephan Vanfleteren style, and I am a big fan of him.
