Slow exposures project
I always look at long exposed pictures and find amazing the way people capture that dreamy water and that beautiful skies.
So I tried: ISO 50, f22, 1sec exposure....
Beautiful trial but of course it didn't work. The skies got overexposed!
I tried to use a higher shutter speed. 0.6 seconds and the sky was better (on the dark side) but I can't see any details on the lake, specially the dreamy water went quite bad. Besides that, it was already very very late. Too late.
I need a neutral density filter. Something that can block the light in such a way that I can leave the shutter open for about 15 seconds.
That means I need to get something 25 stops down. Uhhhh. A challenge.
Reading on the net, I found a lot of examples of people using welding glass (NL: lasglas / PT: Vidro de Solda). I need to find something like that here around. A real ND filter can cost more than 100 euro!
So that is my next step: to find a welding glass and a way to fix it to the front of the lens. Ahahaha, I need a welding helmet! It's Sinterklaas in Holland, a good chance!
Have fun!
