Facts about the winter
The cold winters are still something new for me. Snow is also new. Every snow fall is for me a party.
Everything turns into a big mess but, if you don't need to get the car or the train, it is wonderful!
Some facts about the winter days with clear skies:
- There is a lot of light. A LOT! Enough to make me euphoric.
- I can't bike on the snow. Everything turns into a pap and the wheels of the bike go through this pap and I fall. Exactly like when we bike on the sand. Today I walked to the yoga lesson. I don't dare to bike.
- There is a silence hanging on the air. This happens because snow stifles the sounds and there are less cars running around. The result is a big silence.
- There is also silence within. If you just breath and listen to the silence outside, you have this silence inside you as well. It is like meditating but then, just with your eyes open and walking around.
- I will never forget the sound of ice cracking under my feet. It is primal, guttural. I think I have died on another life by walking over the ice and cracking it open under my feet. Today we tried to cross the small pond between the park and the street where we live, like Jesus would do: on our feet, walking over the frozen water. It looked pretty frozen. Marcel was first and I was behind. In the middle of the 30 meter cross we heard the crack. I quickly ran back to the border, which was also not very smart. Well, once cracked, forever cracked.
- All pictures get bluish. The camera has a quite difficult time to guess the light temperature. If you want a good translation of what you saw and what you photograph, you need to handle the images and increase temperature. See below. The first image is the one I have corrected and the second one is the original one. I also like the second one but it is too blue.
I wish a great Sunday to all of us and lets appreciate what we have around and be neutral. To much judgment is not good for our hearts! And here I am making judgements...
