Mini-project: There are no perfect photographs...

In one of the last books about photography I read, the author quotes Joe Bussink who said: "There are no perfect photographs, only perfect moments".

The quote inspired me... I felt that it was time to rescue my basic moments, even if they lack some acceptable technicality.

In the "Our Peaceable Kingdom", John Drysdale shows amazing photographs. All his photographs are expression of the relationship between human and animals and for that I have nothing to show, but the way Drysdale shows his images... it is so natural! He doesn't care if the picture is a bit imperfect. And if you look at the book you will understand why: he couldn't miss that every instant moment! He could not recompose, he could not ask for a chimpanzee to repeat an expression.

I've been hit by a bolt...

Project: There are no Perfect Photographs
I went through our pictures and selected 60 of them that are representative of a moment, an emotion.

To equalize all pictures and bring some harmony to them, I have applied a creamtone preset and adjusted exposure and contrast (more about it on a another post).

But I am not planning to order an annoying album... NO! For the joy of some of my girlfriends that HATE those Hema albums, I have ordered them as normal (prof) prints and I will be sticking them to the album, one by one....

This album will be for sure one of the small points I have around the house to anchor myself.

My point with this project is to rescue the simplicity of photography. Is to get back to the basis and question why do we photograph.

After going through my past 10 years picking up all those images I rejoice and for sure get grateful for those incomparable moments I've got the chance to experience.
