Framing with Lightroom

Again about framing! To frame is one of the easiest ways of grabbing the eyes of people and sticking them on your pictures... Until some time ago, the only way to add frames to your pictures was to use Photoshop but I have a little resistance with Photoshop. It is a great software, don't get me wrong. But it is heavy and expensive. And it has far more resources than a normal photograph needs.

So I use Adobe Lightroom since version 1.0 Beta and now I have pimped my installation with the ability of producing fine and simple frames around the pictures! Its a plugin called LR/Mogrify. A normal plugin, easy to install and configure!

I am not ready with this plugin yet. It seems you can do a lot more with it. Maybe producing frames like the Polaroid ones, or a charming watermark within the border...

Something to explore soon!

But you really don't need Lightroom to get the eyes of people sticked on your pictures. Picasa does the same job and is free.

One idea I have is to write down a very simple workflow to help getting the most of our simple daily images! Coming soon...

  1. Simone! How nice to find you in blogland! I have always, secretly, been a fan of your pictures and I love what you made for Marieke! Very clever. I'll be following you...
